PRIMER ANIVERSARIO...
MACKINAC ISLAND/MACKINAW CITY
This weekend was my first year anniversary with my husband and we decided to go to Mackinac Island! Romantic weekend ahead!
We stayed at Baymont Inn & Suites at Mackinaw City but if we could get back, we would have stayed at Mackinac Island! I know it is a bit more expensive but the experience is worth it!
Mackinaw City is great but there is no much to do. We got there just on time. The Memorial Day Parade started a few minutes after! Apparently is the biggest one around in the year!
We then visited a few pubs in the area:
Totally recommended (Dixie Salon)
Oberon (Cerveza)
Whitefish (no recommended but it is popular in the area!)
The landscape was really beautiful!
The following day we bought our tickets for the ferry which was going to get us to the Island!
We used Shepler Ferry as it was the fastest and cheapest in the area. Buy your tickets online as you will save $2! Get there on time if not the ferry will leave without you!

When you arrived to the island, go to Bike Shop and rent a bike!

It will take you around 2 hours to surround the island and it is totally worth it!
You can leave the bikes in the street when you decide to go for a walk around:
We recommend to bring a bag with some snacks or something to eat and a scarf to cover your mouth whilst you are on the bike. The island is full of mosquitos! They will not bite you but they are a pain!
